Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or injury. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or home care environments, and possess a genuine desire to promote independence and well-being. This position involves working closely with clients to deliver personalized care in a respectful and professional manner. MUST LIVE IN DELTA PLEASE. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS< INCLUDING SUNDAY.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor health status
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures, especially when working with individuals with dementia or in hospice care settings
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care is preferred
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient safety and comfort
- Knowledge of dementia care, senior care, and working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude with patience and empathy for diverse needs
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of medication administration and meal preparation is advantageous
