Element Refrigeration currently has a challenging opportunity for an Estimator with our growing company.
Estimator (50%)/ Journeymen Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (50%)
Element Refrigeration is seeking to hire a detailed oriented mechanic who is looking to TRANSITION OFF THE TOOLS into an estimator role. The ideal candidate is a component mechanic who has the skills to accurately estimate service work, and has the team focused attitude to support the service team during busy periods or when senior level expertise is required on a job.
As the Estimator/Refrigeration & HVAC Journeyman you will provide high-quality workmanship while servicing equipment in the commercial and industrial environment.
Responsibilities Estimating (50%):
Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for recommended repairs and direct replacements and preventative maintenance
Assist senior management with construction project estimates
Communicate with Service Team to ensure estimates are accurately detailed including parts, labour and customer requirements.
Assist senior management with project management of construction projects.
Order parts required for repair and equipment replacement jobs
Liaise, consult and communicate with various stakeholders to address any concerns with client sites, systems and equipment.
Identify possible cost saving measures for clients as well as possible risks
Contact customers with final quotes and answer any questions they might have
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors suppliers and engineers
Responsibilities Journeyman (50%)
Provide support on tools during busy season and on complex jobs
Coach junior members of the Service team and assist them in developing new skills
Service clients within commercial and industrial environments such as Supermarkets, commercial buildings and restaurants, etc.
Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning systems and components
Install and calibrate related controls (including wiring)
Troubleshoot systems, suggesting corrective actions and sourcing parts
Manage issues, diagnose the problem and fix the unit by replacing or repairing controls, electric wiring or other parts
Complete the required daily equipment inspections, safety reports, and Field Level Hazard Assessments.
Experience, Qualifications & Competencies
Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic
8+ years of experience as a Journeymen

Experience working on mechanical or construction estimates is required
Demonstrated Intermediate to Advanced level of Microsoft Office products, focus on Excel
Must have a Class 5 Drivers License
Ability to be a self-starter, with emphasis in a team oriented environment
