Job Summary
The Food Service Counter Attendant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring food safety and quality. This position involves preparing and serving food items, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a commitment to providing a positive dining experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Operate the POS system efficiently to process transactions and manage cash flow.
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, dining space, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Assist in training new staff on food preparation techniques and customer service protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Skills
- Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for sanitation.
- Proficient in basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus but can be learned on the job.
- Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when necessary.
