Position Overview
The Ivy Montessori Support Staff member plays an important role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-prepared environment for children, families, and staff. Working collaboratively with Montessori educators, the Support Staff assists with supervision, daily routines, and the overall care and well-being of children while upholding Montessori principles and the school's values.
Key Responsibilities
Child Care Supervision and Care
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Supervise children outdoors during playground activities.
- Support toileting, handwashing, dressing, and other self-care routines as needed.
- Assist with meal and snack service while promoting independence and healthy habits.
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and positive atmosphere.
Health, Safety and Cleanliness
- Follow all school policies, health regulations, and safety procedures.
- Ensure snack and lunch dishes are washed and sanitized.
- Ensure daily cleaning, sanitizing, and organization of kitchen and washrooms.
Team Collaboration
- Work cooperatively with teachers, administration, and fellow staff members.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a Montessori or childcare setting is an asset
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the first day of work).
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Up-to-date Immunization Record
- Current Food Handler’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to the first day of work).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 44lbs.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
