Overview
Doege Company Ltd. is looking for a reliable, hands-on Application Engineer to support day-to-day work in a small engineering environment.
This position is well suited for someone who has electrical and computer background, organized, dependable, and willing to learn. The role may include assisting with CAD designs, reports, equipment setup, project support, and meetings.
The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, pays attention to detail, follows safety procedures, and is comfortable working with their hands in a fast-paced environment. Mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing experience is an asset.
Duties
- update redlines, as-built drawings, electrical layouts, panel layouts, and basic schematics with limited supervision. Auto CAD and Soild works.
- Review drawings for missing information, inconsistent tags, device labels, and drawing errors before sending for review.
- Help create drawing packages for electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation projects.
- Maintain drawing standards, file naming, revision tracking, and project drawing folders.
- Support panel layout drawings, basic wiring diagrams, cable schedules, I/O lists, and equipment markups.
- Coordinate drawing updates based on field notes, site photos, and technician feedback.
- Build and maintain complete project folders for each customer and job.
- Create and format scopes of work, checklists, service reports, meeting notes, closeout packages, and customer-facing documents.
- Prepare proposal and estimate packages with clean formatting, supporting notes, drawings, photos, and vendor information.
- Track customer requirements, site notes, deficiencies, action items, open RFIs, and follow-up items.
- Maintain version control on documents, drawings, quotes, reports, and project records.
- Help build repeatable templates for service reports, proposals, inspection forms, maintenance checklists, and closeout packages.
- Be available to go to the field for customer support or visual inspections
Experience & Qualifications
3–5 years of experience, this person should be able to:
- Read and understand basic electrical drawings, control panel drawings, and P&IDs.
- Understand common industrial electrical and automation components.
- Use AutoCAD or similar CAD software with reasonable independence.
- Understand basic PLC, HMI, VFD, instrumentation, and control panel terminology.
- Build simple BOMs and support material takeoffs.
- Understand the importance of revision control, recordkeeping, and accurate documentation.
- Work from field notes, redlines, and verbal direction without needing every step explained.
- Be comfortable asking smart questions when information is missing.

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
