The SHE student Co-op will provide support to the overall program at a site level by providing support to various client groups on safety, health and environment related matters. The SHE student co-op will assist in building SHE organizational capability and drive the implementation of systems, processes, and initiatives to achieve SHE excellence.
Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives across the site;
Assist in accident/incident investigations to ensure appropriate root causes are identified and appropriate corrective actions have been put in place;
Assist in the planning and execution of employee engagement activities related to promoting the site’s safety culture;
Assist the SHE Associate in project design reviews, pre-start health and safety reviews and safety inspections/audits;
Assist in ensuring the site’s adherence to the Emergency Response Program, including employee databases and fire plans;
Continuously monitors and maintains familiarity with the statutory requirements related to the Safety, Health, and Environmental legislation;
Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes;

Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies;
All other relevant duties as assigned.
Must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary Co-op education program (e.g. Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Business etc.)
Prior experience in an industrial manufacturing environment would be an asset.
Basic Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or Environmental regulations.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Second, third or fourth year Occupational Safety and Health student preferred
