Hickling Pools & Spas is a pool construction, service & retail company serving Uxbridge & the surrounding area since 1972. Retail Store Assistant Manager
This is primarily a front line, store centric position dealing with walk-in retail customers & helping customers over the phone. The secondary aspect of the Assistant Manager position is administrative, working with the General Manager on various store related tasks.
The ideal candidate is seeking a career path with the desire to attain an upper level management position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open & close the retail store (based on your schedule) & prep store for the day
- Daily store walk thru to determine areas requiring attention that day (stocking, pricing and cleaning)
- Provide the GM with biweekly checks on inventory levels and store supplies
- Water Testing and maintaining the testing lab
- Assisting customers with water balance & all products in the store
- Hot Tubs sales (training provided)
- Cash out retail & service customers
- Handle incoming calls as needed, directing calls to the service department, taking messages as necessary
- Receive product shipments
- Assist with rotating store layouts based on opening season, mid-season, closing season & fall/winter
- Ongoing training on industry products and equipment
- Support the other retail staff/seasonal staff
- Off season, November to March, there is more focus on administrative, behind the scenes work to prepare for the next season
This position requires strong customer service skills and is suited to a confident, outgoing person who enjoys multitasking in a fast paced, team environment. Candidate Requirements:
Minimum 2 years industry experience (service technician, pool/spa retail sales, pool/spa service scheduler)

Full-time, permanent position
Hours vary seasonally:
In season - Monday-Friday 8 am-6 pm, some Saturdays
Off season - Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm, some Saturdays
Limited vacation time available during in season April through early November. Very flexible on vacation time off season November through March.
