Summary
We are seeking a Factory Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Perfect Fit Manufacturer in Canada. This role is vital in maintaining our manufacturing equipment and facilities to ensure smooth operations and uphold our standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of machinery.
- Assist in routine preventative maintenance to minimize machinery downtime and extend equipment life.
- Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
- Provide assistance with machine repairs and general upkeep.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or facility users.
- Assist with inspections & report maintenance issues/safety hazards on both machinery and facility grounds.
- Assist with routine building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and lighting repairs.
- Track and restock maintenance supplies and tools as needed.
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, and other general repairs.
- Knowledge of schematics and blueprint drawings. (Considered an asset).
- Maintain cleanliness and order of workshop and working areas in the factory.
- Work collaboratively with contractors, vendors, and other maintenance staff.
- Other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Registered as a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year Millwright. (Considered an asset).
- Basic knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC). (Considered an asset).
- Prior maintenance or handyman experience. (Considered an asset).
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools. (Preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- passionate to expand both mechanical & electrical knowledge of industrial machinery.
- Strong aptitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
