Job summary
Aurora Generators is seeking a proactive, technically inclined, and detail-oriented Parts and Inventory Coordinator to support the manufacture of high-quality diesel power generators for residential, industrial, commercial, and off-grid applications.
In this hands-on role, you will take ownership of inventory control, purchasing, parts sourcing, shipping and receiving, and warehouse organization. You will ensure that the correct parts and materials are received, accurately recorded, and available when needed, helping our production and parts-sales teams operate efficiently.
The ideal candidate has experience in inventory, procurement, parts management, warehousing, or manufacturing. Familiarity with electrical, electronic, mechanical, engine, heavy-equipment, or power-generation components would be a strong asset.

Responsibilities
Inventory control and production support
- Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages before they affect production or parts orders.
- Fill inventory transfers, picklists, and material requisitions for generator manufacturing and parts sales.
- Replenish parts and materials at production workstations.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
- Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies.
- Assist with bills-of-materials audits by comparing inventory records with actual production requirements.
- Keep warehouse shelves, bins, labels, and inventory locations accurate and organized.
Procurement and sourcing
- Create and maintain purchase orders and follow up on order status, shortages, back orders, and delivery dates.
- Source electrical, electronic, engine, alternator, mechanical, and generator-related parts.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, availability, and lead time.
- Build productive supplier relationships and work with vendors to resolve purchasing or delivery issues.
- Identify alternative parts and suppliers for high-cost or difficult-to-source items.
- Present proposed substitute parts for technical review and approval before purchasing or implementation.
- Review order history and usage patterns to help anticipate future material requirements.
Inventory software and product data
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Cin7 Core/DEAR Systems or comparable ERP or inventory-management software.
- Accurately process purchase orders, receipts, shipments, inventory transfers, picklists, and stock adjustments.
- Maintain established Cin7 SKU-entry standards, including consistent part numbers, descriptions, categories, units of measure, costs, and supplier information.
- Ensure electronic inventory records match physical stock and supporting documentation.
Shipping and receiving
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and on time.
- Verify received quantities, part numbers, purchase orders, packing slips, and shipment condition.
- Perform quality-control checks and identify damaged, defective, incorrect, or non-conforming parts.
- Document discrepancies and coordinate corrective action with suppliers.
- Process warranty returns, supplier returns, and replacement shipments.
- Prepare, package, and document outgoing generator and parts shipments.
- Maintain organized receiving, shipping, returns, and staging areas.
Material handling and local pickups
- Safely operate a forklift and other appropriate material-handling equipment.
- Safely lift, move, store, and deliver parts and materials throughout the facility.
- Occasionally use a personal vehicle for authorized local parts runs or supplier pickups within York Region.
- Maintain a valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
Process improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, workstation replenishment, purchasing, and order fulfilment.
- Suggest improvements to the tools, software, documentation, and processes used in the position.
- Help document and standardize effective inventory and purchasing procedures.
- Complete other related duties as required.
Required qualifications
- Previous experience in inventory control, purchasing, procurement, parts management, shipping and receiving, warehousing, manufacturing, or a related role.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.
- Experience using inventory-management, purchasing, or ERP software.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and electronic recordkeeping.
- Ability to accurately work with part numbers, SKUs, purchase orders, packing slips, picklists, and bills of materials.
- Ability to prioritize competing requirements and follow tasks through to completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable attendance, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
- Comfortable working in an active manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Ability to safely lift and move parts and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
- Safety footwear suitable for a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using Cin7 Core, DEAR Systems, or comparable inventory-management software.
- Experience purchasing or managing electrical, electronic, mechanical, automotive, heavy-equipment, or industrial components.
- Familiarity with diesel generators, engines, alternators, electrical panels, wiring, controls, or power-generation equipment.
- College, university, apprenticeship, or technical education in engineering, electrical technology, electronics, supply-chain management, logistics, or a related discipline.
- Previous electrical, electronics, engineering, automotive, heavy-equipment, or skilled-trades experience.
- Experience working from bills of materials or supporting manufacturing work orders.
- Experience sourcing specialized, high-cost, or difficult-to-find parts.
- Forklift experience or current forklift certification.
- Experience processing warranty or supplier returns.
