The mission of the Labrador Friendship Centre is to endeavour to provide the best possible services to enrich the lives of Indigenous Peoples of Labrador through the provision and implementation of social, cultural, health, educational, and developmental initiatives.
The Labrador Friendship Centre is currently accepting applications for the position of Diner Server.
Operations Responsibilities:
· Take guests’ orders.
· Serves guests at the counter, tables or buffet tables.
· Use equipment to prepare hot beverages such as coffee.
· Ensure the refrigerators and coolers are stocked appropriately.
· May receive payment for food items purchased.
· Clean, peel, slice vegetables and fruit.
· Assist the Cook with preparations of meals and food items, as needed.
· Wash work tables, cupboards and appliances.
· Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards and other storage areas.
· Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.
· Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff.
· Must complete training provided by the Labrador Friendship Centre.
· Must work scheduled shift work.
· Other related duties, as required.
Qualifications:
· Have experience in a restaurant setting.
· Ability to operate a point of sales system.
· On the job training may be provided, if needed.
· Ability to meet and relate to the general public on a daily basis.
· Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Should be able to deal with the general public and clientele in a professional manner.
· Successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Assets:
- Knowledge of Labrador Indigenous cultures.
- Knowledge of an Indigenous language.
- Indigenous or of Indigenous ancestry.
Wages:
· $ 20.00 per hour.
Hours:
Part-time, weekends
