A career in our Tax Compliance Services practice, within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.
Our team helps our clients with compliance across all taxes, statutory accounting and complex tax reporting. You’ll focus on bookkeeping and monthly reporting, drafting, auditing and filing of local statutory financial statements, and transaction processing.

Accountant - Private Company Services
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing relationships with existing clients and forging new ones in order to exceed their expectations. You will manage the relationship throughout the assignment and ensure proactive and professional communication with key stakeholders. You will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team by seeking feedback, collaborating with your peers and demonstrating a positive attitude and approach to your work. You will be committed to continuous learning and self-development.
Your work will be primarily:
Preparing financial statements from source documentation for investment holding companies and operating companies
Compilation of client information and working paper file preparation, including preparing reconciliations and continuity schedules.
Drafting complete financial statements and related notes
Preparation of Corporate income tax returns
Preparation of other tax reporting forms (T5, T4, GST)
Following-up on Notices of (Re) Assessments
Preparing Notice to Readers and working through Review Engagements
An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work.
Accounting diploma or degree from a College or University
1-3 years’ accounting experience
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with clients at a professional level and their advisors (brokers, lawyers)
Solid accounting skills, including accounting for investments and stock portfolios and understanding of ASPE
Sound knowledge of Canadian corporate tax
Good organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and multi task
Ability to work in a consistently fast-paced environment and to meet tight deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work
Ability to manage client deliverables (financial statements and tax returns)
Computer software knowledge and experience (Excel, Quickbooks, Simply Accounting, Caseware, Sage and Tax Prep)
Proactive and takes ownership for self-development
Can work independently and critically think through and resolve issues
This is an entry level position, open to recent graduates
Bilingual French and English
