We are looking for a motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee day-to-day retail operations and help drive the overall success of the business.
The General Manager will be responsible for leading staff, maintaining strong customer service standards, managing sales and inventory, and ensuring the store operates efficiently and professionally. This role requires someone who is organized, dependable, results-driven, and comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, including sales, merchandising, customer service, inventory, and staff performance.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve profitability, and support business growth.
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support employees.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to help build a strong and reliable team.
- Manage inventory levels, purchasing, pricing, and merchandising.
- Oversee payroll, cash handling, bookkeeping, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Monitor sales performance and prepare reports using the store's Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and proper financial procedures are followed.
- Lead regular staff meetings and communicate goals, expectations, and operational priorities.
- Develop and support marketing initiatives designed to attract new customers and retain existing customers.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming store environment.
- Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with staff to maintain a positive, respectful, and productive workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in management, retail supervision, operations, or a related leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Experience with recruiting, training, employee development, and staff supervision.
- Knowledge of sales, purchasing, inventory management, pricing, and merchandising.
- Experience with payroll, bookkeeping, cash handling, and general administrative duties is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with POS systems and sales reporting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered an asset.
