Position Summary
We are hiring an experienced and reliable Line Cooks for clients across the GTA and Durham Region. We are seeking skilled individuals who can prepare and cook high-quality food efficiently while maintaining excellent food safety, sanitation, and kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Set up and maintain assigned cooking stations before, during, and after service.
- Operate grills, fryers, ovens, stovetops, and other commercial kitchen equipment safely.
- Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and within required service times.
- Monitor food quality, temperature, freshness, and portion control.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift.
- Label, date, store, and rotate food products according to food safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with chefs, supervisors, and other kitchen team members.
- Follow health, safety, sanitation, and food handling standards at all times.
- Assist with food preparation, kitchen cleanup, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous Line Cook or similar commercial kitchen experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a kitchen team.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as required.
- Flexible to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Qualifications
- Food Handler Certification is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Culinary education or training is an asset.
- Previous restaurant, hotel, banquet, catering, or institutional kitchen experience is an asset.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
