Crossing-Bridge Support Services' ABA/IBI Team is seeking enthusiastic and energetic Instructor Therapists (ITs) to join our home-based teams primarily in the Brampton area and within York Region. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of direct experience in ABA/IBI, working one-on-one with children and youth with neurodiverse exceptionalities, particularly autism spectrum disorder. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in implementing ABA/IBI curriculums, collecting and analyzing data, facilitating safety plans, and maintaining professional communication with parents and caregivers. Additionally, they will collaborate effectively with their clinical supervisors and participate in team meetings. Access to a reliable vehicle is highly recommended for the Home-Based Instructor Therapist position, as sessions are scheduled across Vaughan and York Region where public transportation is limited and infrequent.
Duties:
- Provide home-based ABA/IBI therapy to children and youth, occasionally facilitating programming within the learner's community.
- Support students with developing essential life skills, with a focus on self-care and toileting independence.
- Utilize ABLLS-R and AFLS assessments to assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
- Implement behavior management techniques and interventions as prescribed by our BCBAs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for learners.
- Maintain accurate data collection and monitor progress to relay to the Clinical Team.
- Communicate professionally with parents and caregivers regarding daily observations and successes.
- Our experienced BCBA is available to supervise BCBA candidates seeking to complete their hours and meet supervision requirements. Supervision is conducted in alignment with BACB standards, offering guidance, support, and practical feedback to help candidates achieve their certification goals.
Requirements:
- College Diploma or University Degree in a related field (e.g., Behavioural Sciences, Psychology).
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience facilitating ABA/IBI programming for children and youth with ASD and other neurodiverse exceptionalities.
- In-depth knowledge of ABA educational practices and principles, Verbal Behaviour, and CPI de-escalation strategies.
- Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and organization of ABA/IBI curriculums.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with team members and families.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the ABA/IBI Team.
- A current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is a mandatory requirement for onboarding.
