Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Pilot Car Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely assisting in the transportation of oversized equipment, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires a clean driving record, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate various routes efficiently, knowledge of the area and the ability to be on call.
Duties
- Safely operate the pilot trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Assist with navigating and ensuring the load makes it to the destination safely.
- Assist truck driver as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic mechanical checks of the vehicle before and after trips.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding schedules, routes, and any delays or issues that may arise.
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
Skills
- Experience in commercial driving or related roles with a valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication skills.
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness.
- Ability to teach or provide guidance when necessary.
- Basic writing skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
Pay: $23.75-$30.00 per hour
