Salary: $59,689.22 per annum, 35 hour/week


Allowance: $20,907.43 per annum

Under the direction of the Controller, the Finance Officer – Lands and Property Tax is responsible for the invoicing and collections of all City land leases, administering and maintaining all aspects of tax billing and collections, which includes producing property taxes and notices, balancing journals and preparation of aged Trial balance for property taxes on a monthy basis. The Finance Officer – Lands and Property Tax is also responsible for all other miscellaneous billings such as amblulance, alarms, tipping fees, etc. In addition, this position maintains the computerized database and recievables sub ledgers, responds to customer inquiries and complaints as required and other duties as assigned.


High school diploma or equivalent

Post-secondary education in Accounting

Minimum two years work experience with computerized accounting, spreadsheets and word processing

Good interpersonal skills

Assets include being enrolled in a recognized accounting association, having previous collection experience, additional training in accounting and fluency in Inuktitut and or French.

Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered.
