Responsibilities
- Lead fun, interactive paint night events by guiding participants through a step-by-step painting experience with clear, engaging instruction.
- Prepare the featured artwork in advance of each event using the sample image provided by the company, breaking the painting down into manageable, easy-to-follow steps for participants.
- Create a welcoming, encouraging, and inclusive atmosphere where guests of all artistic abilities feel comfortable, supported, and successful.
- Offer positive feedback and individual assistance throughout the event, helping participants build confidence while enjoying the creative process.
- Arrive at the venue with sufficient time to unload, set up easels, canvases, paints, brushes, and all other required supplies before guests arrive.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and engaging presence while hosting the event from start to finish.
- Clean, pack, and load all equipment and supplies following the event, leaving the venue tidy and organized.
- Travel to and from event locations in Guelph area using your own reliable vehicle.
Requirements
- Strong acrylic painting skills are required. Applicants must be confident working with acrylic paints. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Ability to accurately recreate a sample painting provided by the company and confidently teach beginners how to complete it in a fun, step-by-step format within approximately 2 hours.
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable speaking in front of groups, with the ability to keep participants engaged, encouraged, and having fun throughout the event.
- Patient, kind, and genuinely passionate about helping others succeed, regardless of their artistic experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to lead a room of participants of varying skill levels.
- Organized, dependable, and professional, with strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable setting up, transporting, and packing away art supplies independently before and after each event.
- Must hold a valid driver’s licence and have reliable access to a personal vehicle. This is non-negotiable, as instructors are responsible for transporting a large quantity of art supplies and equipment to and from event venues.
- Previous experience teaching art, leading workshops, hosting paint nights, or instructing groups is considered an asset, but is not required for applicants with strong artistic ability and a willingness to learn.
