Here's how a Technical Writing and Training Specialist for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
Develops, coordinates and facilitates virtual and in-person workshops for subject matter experts and software application end users; participates in software pilots and rollouts
Identifies training needs by completing needs analyses; Evaluates and reports on training results and recommends improvements.
Prepares training data and conditions and creates and updates training materials; delivers training as required
Develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders
Promotes adherence to processes and system best practices to maximize adoption and buy-in. Gathers and analyses system-adoption data and metrics
Identifies opportunities for improved utilization of existing business applications and processes and integrates business process improvements with system improvements to create wholistic and cost-optimized processes.
Elicits, reviews, analyzes, and validates systems and user needs.
Supports effective identification, assessment, and prioritization of business problems and identifies solutions, enhancements, and recommendations for improvements.
Supports end users, troubleshoots issues, and streamlines service delivery.
Qualifications
Postsecondary degree or diploma in technical communication, technical writing, change management, information management or a related discipline.
Experience with technical writing tools and methodologies and /or change management methodologies
Results-oriented and able to drive deadlines; ability to learn independently and stay current with new technologies
Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with employees at all levels and areas of the organization; ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
Ability to think logically and analytically, and to constructively express ideas and concepts.
Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work; ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints; ability to work independently and in a team by collaborating to solve problems.
Experience with advanced system troubleshooting.
3 years of progressive experience in a related field.
