Exchange & Returns Co-Worker (12-20 Hours)

Your Mission:
o Provide a positive customer service experience in the Exchange & Returns department to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store.

Your Goals:
o Ensure a positive shopping experience by greeting customers, being visible and available at all times and managing first contact resolution.
o Identify customer concerns prior to processing transactions, minimizing wait times by accurately entering complete information according to the Return Policy.
o Thank the customer, offer a friendly closing and invite them back.
o Efficiently identify and label all returned products and place them in the appropriate room (confirmation room) for further processing in a timely manner.
o Perform and maintain department specific routines and procedures in the Returns area focusing on cleanliness and organization and always operating at IKEA Commercial Review standards.
o Follow all IKEA cashier balancing policies and procedures.
o Fill spare parts requests.
o Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of coworkers and customers.
o Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur.
o Ability to act as floor supervisor in absence of management.

You Have:
o Proactive and courteous customer approach.
o Good communication skills.
o Willingness to share your knowledge and learning.
o Problem-solving skills.
o Interest in home furnishings.
o Computer aptitude.
o Ability to lift 50 lbs. (22.7kg) and operate a pallet jack.
o All IKEA Canada co-workers are required to provide a National background check as a condition of employment.
o Customer oriented, able to prioritize in busy environment, multitasking.
o Good working knowledge of Windows based software.
o Superior customer service/conflict resolutions skills.

Your Workplace:
o High volume, fast-paced food service/retail environment.
o Continuous receptive hand motions; standing and bending for long periods.
o Working with cleaning compounds, soaps, and chemicals.
o Hours of work include Weekdays, Evenings, Saturday, Sunday, and Statutory holidays; full evening and weekend availability is a must.
