About The Role
The Optical Recruiter will be responsible for identifying, attracting, interviewing, and hiring talented optical professionals across Canada. The successful candidate will work closely with hiring managers and leadership to understand staffing needs, develop effective recruitment strategies, build strong candidate pipelines, and ensure positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment cycle for optical retail and corporate positions, from sourcing through to offer and onboarding.
- Recruit for positions including Opticians, Optical Associates, Store Managers, Assistant Managers, Lab Technicians, and other optical retail roles.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates across Canada.
- Source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, networking, and other recruitment channels.
- Review resumes, conduct phone and virtual interviews, and assess candidates based on experience, qualifications, and cultural fit.
- Partner closely with Area Managers, Store Managers, and leadership to understand hiring requirements and staffing priorities.
- Coordinate interviews and maintain clear communication with candidates and hiring teams throughout the recruitment process.
- Prepare and extend employment offers and support candidates through the hiring process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information and recruitment activity within the applicant tracking system.
- Develop creative strategies to attract high-quality optical talent in competitive markets.
- Build strong relationships with candidates and establish a network of optical professionals for future opportunities.
- Monitor recruitment activity and provide regular updates on open positions, candidate pipelines, and hiring progress.
- Represent Hakim Optical professionally and promote our company culture, career opportunities, and commitment to our employees.
- Stay current with recruitment trends, talent availability, and best practices within the optical and retail industries.
Qualifications
- +3 years of recruitment or talent acquisition experience.
- Experience recruiting within the optical, healthcare, retail, or customer-service industries is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of the recruitment process and candidate sourcing techniques.
- Excellent communication, interviewing, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple vacancies and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and results oriented.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with hiring managers and leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, job boards, and applicant tracking systems.
- Ability to travel occasionally, if required.
What We Offer
· Competitive hourly rate: $32–$34 per hour, based on experience
