Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to excavate trenches and prepare sites for septic system installation
- Install septic tanks, piping, drain fields, and related components according to specifications and safety standards
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, connect, and secure septic system parts efficiently
- Conduct electrical work related to low voltage systems or alarms when necessary
- Perform welding tasks to secure metal components or repair parts as needed
- Manage site safety by inspecting work areas, adhering to OSHA regulations, and ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment
- Assist with site preparation, including grading and backfilling to ensure proper drainage and system functionality
Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and low voltage electrical systems
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and rigging techniques
- Experience in excavation work including trenching, site grading, and site cleanup
- Familiarity with septic system components and installation procedures preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and electrical work
- Prior experience working with plumbing or drainage systems is a plus
