POSITION OVERVIEW
Assist store management in overseeing and promoting all aspects of the business, including buying, pricing, sales, merchandising, loss prevention, and staff training and performance management. Lead by example by fostering a positive, customer-focused culture, maintaining high operational standards, and mentoring team members to achieve business objectives. Deliver exceptional customer service while continually identifying innovative solutions and process efficiencies to enhance overall business operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead, coach, and inspire the store team by example, fostering a positive, accountable, and customer-focused culture while supporting store management in achieving operational and financial goals.
· Train, mentor, and develop associates across all store functions through continuous coaching, performance feedback, and individualized development plans to build a high-performing team.
· Deliver and promote exceptional customer service by leading by example, coaching associates on best practices, and creating a welcoming shopping experience for every customer.
· Lead the store's buying process, conducting daily and weekly buy audits to maintain productivity, inventory quality, and profitability
· Partner with store management to create weekly schedules, establish performance expectations, conduct performance evaluations, and support employee engagement and succession planning.
· Oversee all merchandising activities to ensure the sales floor is visually appealing, fully stocked, and aligned with company standards. Execute seasonal transitions, promotional displays, feature walls, clearance events, and rack maintenance to maximize sales opportunities.
· Manage inventory flow and backstock operations by ensuring merchandise is received, ticketed, organized, replenished, and stored efficiently. Maintain inventory accuracy through regular counts, audits, and effective stockroom organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
· Minimum of 2 years' experience in a retail leadership or supervisory role, with demonstrated success in team development, coaching, merchandising, and inventory or backstock management. Experience in fashion or specialty retail is preferred.
· Proven ability to lead by example, motivate and develop high-performing teams through effective coaching, training, and performance management.
· Strong knowledge of visual merchandising, inventory control, stockroom organization, and operational best practices, with the ability to maintain exceptional store presentation and merchandise flow.
· Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
· Outstanding customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and team members alike.
· Results-driven with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales, merchandising, and operational objectives while fostering a positive and engaging team culture.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
· Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 lbs. independently. Heavier items may require team lifting or the use of appropriate equipment (e.g., cart or dolly).
· Ability to bend, reach, twist, squat, and perform repetitive movements associated with receiving, pricing, merchandising, stocking, and organizing merchandise in both the sales floor and backstock areas.
Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, based on business needs.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried position offering a competitive annual salary ranging from $42,000 to $54,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The starting salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
