Scheduling & Inventory Analyst

Panolam Surface Systems has an opportunity for a scheduling and inventory professional to work in our Huntsville, Ontario plant. His/her main objective is to balance the provision of materials needed in a timely manner while managing and minimizing inventory quantities and ensuring that all inventory numbers are accurate.

  • Knowledge of product/material flow processes as well as a good understanding of Panolam’s process.
  • Problem solving skills, analytical, detail oriented (must be able to work through problems, evaluate and correct – keeping fundamental audit trails).
  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate job ownership and excellent organizational skills.
  • Required computer skills must include HISS program (Production aspects)
  • Experience with physical inventories & cycle counting.
  • Must maintain accurate records and write/print legibly.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Performance, absenteeism, positive attitude and Health & Safety records must all be above average.
  • Focus is to keep the computer inventory matching the actual inventory of product. This will be accomplished by analyzing and auditing production reports, working with returned materials and managing cycle counts.
  • Locate shipping tags when they are not turned in.
  • Scheduling of both board manufacturing lines to maintain inventory.
  • Assist on physical inventory counts.
  • Work on ways to reduce inventory obsolescence using tools such as the Ship list (over produced material) file.
  • Train production employees on correct use of production reports.
  • Troubleshoot Logistics issues as assigned.
  • Create parts for new products.
  • Advise Customer Service for availability of materials and lead time.
  • Release new materials from warehouse.
  • Provide assistance and support to department Manager as needed.
Some overtime required at month end and physical inventory counts.
