Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis
- Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures to maintain patient safety
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians with precision and care
- Provide compassionate patient care by restraining animals, cleaning wounds, and supporting recovery processes
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and preventive health measures
- Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files accurately, and ensure compliance with clinic protocols
- Assisting with reception duties
Experience
- Proven laboratory experience working with diagnostic tests in a veterinary or animal health setting
- Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical conditions
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Registered with the OAVT or eligible for registration
