Riverwise Psychological Services is a family-friendly psychology practice providing assessment and intervention services for children, adolescents, and families across Ontario. We are currently seeking a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) / Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) / or a Psychologist/Psychological Associate in Supervised Practice to provide structured intervention services for children ages 8 to 12 experiencing challenges with emotion regulation and executive functioning. Many of our clients have a diagnosis such as ADHD or Autism.
This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys working with children, appreciates a collaborative team environment, and is excited about delivering evidence-based interventions within a well-supported model of care.
About the Role
Unlike a traditional psychotherapy position, this role focuses on delivering structured intervention plans developed by a supervising psychologist.
The supervising psychologist will:
- Complete the intake assessment and clinical formulation.
- Establish treatment goals with the family.
- Select the intervention approach and resources.
- Provide ongoing supervision and clinical guidance.
The successful candidate will:
- Build a warm, engaging therapeutic relationship with children.
- Deliver structured intervention sessions using evidence-based manuals, activities, and treatment resources.
- Support children in developing skills related to emotion regulation, executive functioning, cognitive flexibility, coping, and problem solving.
- Communicate regularly with the supervising psychologist regarding client progress.
- Participate in supervision and consultation.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as an RP or RP(Q), or registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario in Supervised Practice
- Has experience working with children between approximately 8 and 12 years of age.
- Is enthusiastic, playful, patient, and skilled at engaging children.
- Has experience supporting children with challenges related to emotion regulation, ADHD, executive functioning, anxiety, or behavioural regulation.
- Is comfortable following structured treatment plans and using manualized or semi-structured intervention programs.
- Values collaboration and enjoys working closely with psychologists and other members of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills.
Availability
Because most children attend sessions after school, applicants must be available during late afternoons and/or early evenings, with consistent weekly availability.
