Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic assessments of commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, HVAC systems, and mechanical assemblies using hand tools and power tools
- Troubleshoot issues utilizing schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software to identify root causes efficiently
- Replace or repair parts including belts, hoses, brakes, transmissions, electrical wiring, and welding components to ensure safety standards are met
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or industrial equipment during maintenance or repair procedures when necessary
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all work performed for compliance and future reference
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service tasks while adhering to safety protocols
Requirements
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a strong background in automotive repair and industrial machinery
- Hands-on experience working with excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, forklifts, or farm machinery is highly desirable
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for electrical systems and mechanical assemblies
- Skilled in welding, using power tools safely and effectively for repairs or assembly tasks
- Ability to lift heavy components repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks safely
- Knowledge of HVAC systems related to vehicle climate control is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients about repairs and maintenance needs
