Hiring Unit: Professor Laura Pollock (Department of Biology)
Position Summary:
-
Assists graduate students and postdoc with their research projects for Environment Canada and IVADO – Environment Group, which are both scientific grants on the study of the impact of climate change on Canadian Biodiversity with several associated postdoctoral researchers and graduate students.

Assists with the writing of the scientific components of grant reports for these two projects including preparing text and modifying graphics from publications for their use in reports.

Assists with writing and editing manuscripts, including revising text, recreating figures, and incorporating references.

Develops and maintains documentation for the lab’s data repository, collaborating with graduate students to ensure proper organization, accessibility, and reproducibility of files and code, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and postdoctoral coordinators for each grant.

Prepares research summaries for the lab’s website and social media platform on the research outputs including publications, reports and research activities.
Qualifications:

Maturity, professionalism, and a commitment to advancing biodiversity conservation efforts.
Education/Experience:

Experience in Conservation, Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour.

Master's degree in biology or equivalent.
Location: This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (4) qualifier on a scale of 0-4.
