Position Summary
Atlético Kingston is seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Canteen & Merchandise Sales Associates. This role plays an important part in creating a positive experience for players, families, coaches, and visitors while supporting the club's revenue-generating activities.
The successful candidate will be proactive, energetic, and motivated to maximize sales through exceptional customer service, active product promotion, and meaningful customer engagement. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Deliver exceptional customer service to players, families, coaches, and visitors.
- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Actively promote canteen products and club merchandise.
- Recommend products and upsell items to maximize sales opportunities.
- Answer questions regarding merchandise, club programs, and events.
- Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Proactively engage customers and identify opportunities to increase sales and enhance the customer experience.
Canteen Operations
- Serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards.
- Ensure products are well-stocked, organized, and attractively displayed.
- Monitor inventory levels and report stock shortages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Merchandise Sales
- Display and organize club apparel and merchandise to encourage sales.
- Assist customers with sizing, product selection, and purchases.
- Promote featured items, new products, and seasonal merchandise.
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking.
Club Support
- Help create a positive and engaging environment for club members and visitors.
- Support special events, tournaments, camps, and club initiatives as required.
- Assist with setup and teardown of sales areas and displays.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Minimum age: 16 years old
- Previous experience in retail, food service, hospitality, concessions, customer service, volunteer leadership, or community programs.
- Must be available to work a combination of evenings, weekends, tournaments, camps, and special events throughout the summer season.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
- Comfortable initiating conversations and promoting products.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred
- Experience with sales and revenue generation.
- Knowledge of soccer and the Atlético Kingston community.
- Comfortable assisting with promotional content, product displays, and club marketing initiatives when required.

Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $17.60-$20.00/hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated customer service skills.
- Flexible part-time scheduling, including evenings and weekends.
