Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electric Motor Winder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in working with electrical systems. This role involves winding electric motors, interpreting schematics, and ensuring that all work meets quality standards. The Electric Motor Winder will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our products.
Responsibilities
- Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and otherelectro-mechanical equipment
- Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts
- Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components
- Instruct apprentices
- Rewind, assemble and install various types of coils
- Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors
- Perform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators or other parts
- Perform on-site servicing and repair
- Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
- Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensureproper performance
Qualifications
- Proven experience in mechanics, particularly with electric motors or similar equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and ability to read schematics.
- Experience in industrial repair workshop is a plus.
- Proficiency in using both hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for various tasks.
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
