Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport goods between distribution centers, clients, and various destinations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records for accountability.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure a secure working environment.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately to prevent delays.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy trucks or commercial vehicles with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations, safety standards, and route planning.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and physical demands of loading cargo.
