The purpose of this job is to ensure accurate, timely generation of warehouse orders and preparation of driver packages. This position also ensures that the evening outbound routes depart on time and second pick orders are filled. The Operations Clerk also focuses on building strong relationships and positive morale with Transportation and Warehouse Teams.

Shift: 6:00pm-2:30am, Sunday to Thursday

Role Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with routing department and warehouse supervisor to generate selection orders in SWMS in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Import and map loads onto trailers using Syntellic load planning program.
  • Prepare transportation route manifests, itinerary packages and accurately distribute drop keys.
  • Assign temperature probes and document on load plan.
  • Assign electronic temperature recorders to loads.
  • Check and document Multi-Unit customer product temperatures.
  • Assist with order selections and locating product for loading/delivery as needed.
  • Prepare route invoices – staple and prepare paperwork for delivery.
  • Empty out returning trailers and stage returns in appropriate temperature environments.
  • Complete accurate data entry and weekly reports as required by Warehouse department.
  • Complete various tasks for Warehouse Supervisor/Director of Operations as requested.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
  • Completion of high school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a transportation/warehousing environment.
  • Must be willing to obtain a pallet jack operator’s certificate and learn to operate a reach forklift.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize your own work activities; manage work time efficiently; follow procedures and policies.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills and have a working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Knowledge of SWMS (SYSCO Warehouse Management System) would be considered an asset.
  • This position functions in an office as well as a warehouse environment. Exposure to various temperature zones (freezer, cold storage). Lifting up to 23kg (50lbs) is required.
