Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Worker to provide exceptional in-home support to a female mid 50s in need of 24 hour assistance. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As a Home Care Worker, you will be a trusted companion and caregiver, ensuring clients receive respectful, attentive, and professional service in the comfort of their own homes. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Provide patient care including medication reminders, wound care, and health monitoring in accordance with care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer assistance, including heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety at all times
- Document care activities accurately and communicate any changes or concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and enhance mental well-being
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care or home care environments is an asset but not required. Training will be provided.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when assisting clients with mobility needs
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and respect
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Basic knowledge of medication administration and health monitoring techniques
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are often required for client visits
