We are looking for a like minded Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Dream Team!
The Registered Veterinary Technician is educated and trained to support the attending Veterinarian by assisting with surgery, laboratory procedures, radiography, anesthesia, prescribed treatment/nursing and client education.
Expected tasks are not limited to:
- All duties of a Veterinary Medical Receptionist and of a Veterinary Medical Assistant.
- Collect specimens and perform laboratory procedures
- Administer medication
- Provide specialized nursing care
- Prepare animals, instruments and equipment for surgery
- Preparing the surgical site using aseptic technique
- Advise and educate animal owners
- Perform dental prophylaxes'
- Calculate and administer medications as prescribed by the Veterinarian
- Perform CPR
- Monitor anesthetized patients
- IV catheterization
- Administer blood transfusions
- Implement radiation safety measures
- Maintain quality control of various areas of the practice.
