Job Summary
G&R Precision Grinding is a trusted machine shop that's been in business for over 30 years. We complete high-precision work for mold makers, tool and die, automotive, aerospace and more.
We are seeking a machine operator, and-or machinist, ideally someone who also has cylindrical grinding experience. Honing experience is a definite asset. The ideal candidate is adaptable to changing workflow requirements, will be mechanically inclined, is detail-oriented (must be able to work to within strict tolerances of .0002") committed to safety, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines to complete I.D. and O.D. operations on a variety of parts.
- Operate both manual and powerstroke honing machines for production jobs.
- Working to within strict tolerances, you will also measure parts for accuracy using a variety of tools such as micrometers, gauge blocks, bore gauges, etc.
- Assist with other shop tasks as required.
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years experience required.
- Proven experience as a machinist, specifically in cylindrical grinding and honing, and - or as a machine operator is preferred.
- Equivalent experience in a similar shop environment may be considered.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral) is required.
- Grade 12 or equivalent level math skills are a must.
We are looking for someone who can start immediately. Salary commensurate with experience.
Pay: $20.00-$45.00 per hour
