Tundra is seeking an Exploitation Engineering Student for the summer of 2025 (May - August). This position will be based out of our Calgary, Alberta office.
Reporting to the Manager, Reservoir Engineering, some specific duties and responsibilities of the Exploitation Engineering Student include, but are not limited to:

Perform a detailed analysis of prior workovers in the Bakken and Torquay formations in SE Saskatchewan to determine incremental impact and economics of various completion techniques

Conduct a well spacing study in the Frobisher formation that interprets the degradation between child and parent locations based on timing, voidage and spacing. Present findings and recommendations to area team and manager.

Participate with multidisciplinary Business Development Team (BDT) and assist exploitation engineer to conduct area well reviews

Support exploitation engineer in developing long range plans for enhanced oil recovery

Perform type curve generation and production forecasting for new drilling locations

Build economic models and forecasts with key indicators to help BDT prioritize and rank projects

Perform completion, workover, and waterflood analysis on newly acquired properties. Provide recommendations to team on best practices to maximize the production and value of the asset.

Review waterflood pattern database for omissions and errors. Add new patterns, producer wells and injector conversions. Create visualization tool to improve pattern review process.

Work with data analytics team to construct visualizations that allow us to automatically track area activity by well type, completion style and production.

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

In progress of obtaining an undergraduate Degree in Engineering or a post-secondary education in Petroleum related discipline.

Experience in, or ability to learn:
-
Computer programs; Spotfire, Excel, Accumap, Wellview, Generwell, Mosaic
-
Reservoir engineering competencies such as production trend analysis and waterflood surveillance
-
Data analytics skills are a key requirement – able to digitize and format data so it can then be imported into analytical or visualization tools such as Spotfire

Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Good organizational skills with the ability to understand highest priorities, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Self-starter with initiative and an ability to seek information independently.
