Our organization has a strong reputation for successfully installing water, storm and sewer facilities including construction of water and sewage treatment facilities in large portion of Northeastern Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the General Laborer will be responsible for executing all yard and building maintenance related items. A successful candidate in this role must maintain the utmost commitment to safety.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to effectively maintain organization, storage, and movement of yard materials
- Assist Operations with maintenance and care of heavy and operational equipment
- Operate forklift to station and retrieve equipment and other requirements within the yard
- Conduct housekeeping of facilities including shop, yard, and equipment
- Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers
- Job duties will often vary from day to day depending on business needs
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Must be able to lift-up to 50 lbs.
- Carpentry experience is inclined
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures
- Must hold a valid driver’s license (minimum class 5)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Having a strong work ethic and being reliable is essential
- Successful candidate must be willing to work occasional weekends and overtime as needed
Wage: Commensurate with skills and experience
