The Executive Vice President, Retirement is a key member of the Senior Executive team and is responsible for all aspects of the Retirement Division. Building on an existing platform of 36 properties this leader will develop a high performing team, build the Sienna brand in every community we serve, and execute a significant growth strategy for the company’s Retirement portfolio- making a significant contribution to the overall growth and performance of the company.
Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Vice President, Retirement will be responsible for both top and bottom lines of a significant portfolio, and lead a team of ten direct reports, has both a strategic and operational growth focus, developing a high performing team, to help our residents live fully, every day.
The Executive Vice President, Retirement has various accountabilities, including:
Leads all aspects of the Retirement portfolio, including sales, marketing, and operations
Provide leadership to a team of approximately 10 direct reports
Develop a culture consistent with organization’s Mission, Vision, Values and brand standards
Participate in development and execution of the company’s strategic plan Lead the development and execution of the retirement division annual business plan and annual financial targets, capital plan and budgets
Develop, execute and achieve the individual retirement residence performance goals in alignment with the overall strategy for the retirement division
Collaborate with marketing/communications on strategic and tactical brand strategies, including the Sienna Experience, social media, collateral, customer service, promotions, advertising and communications
Work with the development team to provide expertise on the design and operation on the new retirement residences
Ensure retirement residences operate within approved budgets, and to meet NOI and occupancy targets
Partner with key functional support services to support the retirement team
Bachelor’s degree in Business, health care, hospitality or related field
A minimum of ten (10) years of leadership experience in operations with, responsibility for a large geographically dispersed division
experience at a senior leadership level, possess strong analytical skills to evaluate and interpret trends and data at the macro level and can present these trends to others in a simplified, understandable manner
Strong team player with the ability to relate well to a wide variety of people. A proactive and competent thinker
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to attract, motivate, develop and retain a high caliber customer-focused team members and operational leaders
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to fluidly present and develop peer-level credibility with a wide range of audiences, up to and including the board of directors
Demonstrates the commitment, confidence and sense of urgency necessary to bring diverse constituencies and teams together in pursuit of common business goals
