Job Overview
A1 Learning Centre is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Math Tutor to help students strengthen their mathematical skills and build confidence in their learning. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and enjoy making a positive impact on students' academic success. The position offers flexible hours and is ideal for university students, aspiring teachers, Early Childhood Educators, or individuals pursuing careers in education, special education, mathematics, or computer science.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions in mathematics.
- Explain mathematical concepts using clear, engaging, and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Develop personalized lesson plans based on each student's learning needs and academic goals.
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Create a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and independent learning.
- Utilize educational technology and digital resources to enhance instruction.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring additional accommodations.
- Communicate effectively with parents and the learning centre regarding student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, attendance, and student achievements.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of mathematics (elementary through high school, including algebra, geometry, and calculus, as applicable).
- Previous tutoring, teaching, or classroom experience is preferred.
- Experience working with children or youth in an educational setting is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using computers and educational technology.
- Knowledge of special education strategies is considered an asset.
- Reliable, patient, organized, and passionate about helping students succeed.
