VPRI provides a full range of services including guidance to faculty, staff and students on funding opportunities, research agreement negotiation, oversight and accountability services including research
accounting, environmental health and safety, innovation and entrepreneurship, partnerships, policies and procedures, and institutional awards and honours.

Your opportunity:
The Innovations & Partnership Office of The University of Toronto supports over 200 active commercialization projects based on the intellectual property portfolio of the university and monitors a further 180 commercialization projects undertaken by individual members of the UofT research community. Reporting to the Director, Innovations, the Inventions Data Administrator is responsible for proactively collecting and recording data as it relates to these commercialization activities.

Your responsibilities will include:
Identifying and resolving individual data anomalies and discrepancies.
Identifying and analyzing data discrepancies and taking necessary actions to correct errors.
Verifying and reconciling data errors.
Updating and maintaining database records.
Providing detailed explanations on extracted data.

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum three years relevant experience navigating business development databases or experience using patent databases.
Experience with Inteum, Wellspring or other intellectual property content management systems.
Experience with range of software applications including working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word;
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills;
Effective problem solving; ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to perform well in an environment of overlapping projects and deadlines; setting priorities and coping with a variety of tasks from different individuals.
Efficiency with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work with individuals with varying degrees of understanding and comfort with technology; and apply instructions constructively.
Tact and diplomacy in handling interactions with faculty and licensees.
Respect for handling confidential information appropriately.

Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 08 - $54,851 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $70,146. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
