Position: Childcare Assistant Program Teacher
Course codes: TOC4C (3 credits), GLN401 (1credit) and TOC4C9 (2 credits of cooperative education)
Start: September 3, 2024
End: TBD / all classes are dependent upon class enrollment
Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7.5 hours per day
Location: Archbishop Anthony Meagher Catholic Continuing Education Centre (850 King St. West. Unit 26, Oshawa)
Applications are currently being accepted for the above position. The successful applicant should have teachable(s) in at least one of the subject area(s) identified in the above posting and hold certification in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and current membership in the provincial association for Early Childhood Educators (in good standing) or Early Childhood Educator Diploma from a registered college in Canada and current membership in the provincial association for Early Childhood Educators (in good standing)
Desired:
Formal training and/or experience in teaching adults in an educational setting
Experience teaching online courses
Knowledge of Brightspace
Responsibilities:
The instructor/coordinator is expected to deliver both the theoretical and practical components of the program.
Theory:
Deliver the Child Development and Gerontology: Child Development Emphasis Courses curriculum
Provide appropriate assessments and evaluations pertaining to the curriculum
Monitor students' progress in the course provide timely and description feedback
Practical:
Coordinate all hands-on training and certifications for students registered in the program
