Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various residential door products and surfaces, ensuring high-quality standards and safety compliance. The position requires an understanding of lean manufacturing principles and assembly processes to contribute effectively to our production goals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or masking as needed
- Apply paint, coatings, or finishes using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other equipment
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist in assembly or surface preparation tasks
- Perform basic surface repairs or modifications
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure proper storage of materials and tools
- Assist in quality inspections to ensure finishes meet specifications and standards
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by adhering to efficient work practices and continuous improvement processes
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation and coating application
- Familiarity to optimize workflow efficiency
- Experience in assembly processes and machining operations is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
