Casual Sous Chef | Brie & Banquet Inc.
Brie & Banquet is a boutique luxury catering and grazing company based in Calgary. We produce at a level that most kitchens don't, and the standard we hold is not negotiable. Every detail that leaves this kitchen goes out exactly right.
We are looking for a Casual Sous Chef to join our bench. This is a production kitchen role. Cold prep, detail work, finishing. Exceptional knife skills and a real eye for detail are the baseline here. If your background is only the line, the fryer, or the grill, this is probably not the right fit.
What this role looks like:
- Casual, shift-based scheduling built around your availability
- Shifts typically run 4 to 8 hours
- Our highest volume generally falls on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
- Shifts are typically early mornings
- There are no guaranteed hours, but reliable, high-performing bench members are always our first call
What we are looking for:
- Exceptional knife skills, non-negotiable
- Detail-oriented to a degree that others might find excessive
- Fast. Genuinely fast, not just fast for a slow kitchen
- Composed and effective under pressure
- A strong communicator who is honest and proactive
- Fluent English, written and spoken
- Someone who takes ownership without being managed closely
