The Town of Okotoks is committed to providing superior services to its residents while continuing to be a leader through all aspects of environmental stewardship, including progressive waste management practices. In pursuit of this goal, we have an exciting opportunity for an innovative team player to assist in the day-to-day administration of Waste Services initiatives. The incumbent provides front-line administrative support to Waste Services, including answering and/or redirecting customer inquiries, process mail, look after point of sale and maintain and update data bases and tracking systems for the Town’s Waste Services functions. Participation in cross-training to provide backup to the other administrative functions within the Operations team as required is an expectation.

Business Administration certification is preferred, plus a minimum of 3 years previous secretarial/administrative experience, preferably in a municipal setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, and tracking systems though Excel or other means is mandatory. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment will ensure your success in this position.
