Duties
- Operate commercial trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery schedules are met
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Secure freight properly using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, or tarps
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist with loading and unloading freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status and any issues encountered during transit
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly long-haul routes
- Familiarity with freight handling and securement techniques
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for maintaining vehicle performance during trips
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Prior experience with freight logistics and transportation regulations is advantageous
- If required on job training required as well
This position requires a dedicated professional committed to safe driving practices, punctuality, and efficient freight management. Candidates should be prepared for extended periods on the road and possess the necessary skills to operate heavy equipment safely.
Pay: $80,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
