Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Import Coordinator to join our supply chain team. In this vital role, you will oversee the end-to-end import process, ensuring seamless coordination between vendors, freight carriers, customs authorities, and internal departments. Your expertise in transportation management systems, warehouse distribution, and procurement will drive efficient import operations, optimize costs, and support our company's growth. Duties
- Coordinate all aspects of import shipments, including documentation, customs clearance, and delivery schedules
- Manage transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP platforms such as AS400 to track shipments and inventory levels
- Collaborate with freight providers, 3PL partners, and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant import processes
- Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains in shipping & receiving operations
- Oversee order fulfillment activities related to imported goods, including packaging, order picking, and materials management
- Monitor pricing strategies for imported products and negotiate sourcing terms with suppliers to optimize procurement costs
- Maintain accurate records of shipping documentation, freight bills, tariffs, and compliance reports
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or materials management within a supply chain environment
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and demand planning principles
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or equivalent platforms
- Experience with freight logistics, 3PL coordination, and international shipping regulations
- Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex logistics data for process improvement opportunities
- Hands-on experience with packaging standards, order picking procedures, forklift operation certification preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
