Protrans Personnel Services is currently recruiting for a
Logistics Coordinator (Contract – up to one year) on behalf of a leading transportation and logistics company.

As a key member of the operations team, you will coordinate the movement of fresh and frozen seafood across Canada and the United States, ensuring exceptional service, smooth transportation operations, and strong customer relationships.

- 40 hours per week
- Rotating schedule:
- Some weeks: Monday to Friday
- Other weeks: Tuesday to Saturday
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will act as the primary liaison between customers, dispatch, carriers, and terminal operations. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve issues proactively, and maintain strong communication will be critical to ensuring shipments are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.
This role requires a strong sense of urgency, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering a superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate daily shipments throughout Canada and the United States from pickup through final delivery.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively manage delays, service disruptions, and exceptions.
- Collaborate with Central Dispatch and terminal teams to ensure on-time performance and operational efficiency.
Cross-Border Operations
- Prepare and manage customs documentation for cross-border shipments.
- Review and clear customs invoices to ensure smooth border crossings.
- Resolve border-related issues quickly to minimize service interruptions.
Customer Service & Account Support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through consistent communication and service excellence.
- Provide transportation rates, pricing quotes, and logistical solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Assist with onboarding new customers and identifying opportunities to enhance service and retention.
Billing & Administrative Support
- Verify billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Address operational and invoicing issues that may impact deliveries or customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate and schedule delivery appointments with customers and receiving facilities.
Issue Resolution
- Respond quickly and effectively to transportation emergencies and service concerns.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to implement timely solutions.
- Participate in on-call support as required to ensure uninterrupted customer service.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma required.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, customer service, or a related business environment.
- Experience with cross-border freight and transportation operations is considered an asset.
