We are currently seeking a Manager, International Business Development who can be nice, will seek inspiration from our roots, can commit to achieving results the right way and loves to think big to join us on our journey.
The Manager, International Business Development is a key member of our International Business Development team, reporting to the VP, International Business Development. This role will be responsible to deliver sustainable revenue growth in targeted international markets through wholesale partnerships, online marketplaces, multi-brand stores and department stores. This role is for a detail-oriented, analytical thinker who has demonstrated knowledge of international market sales channels, platforms, market regulations, supply chain and business cultures.
The Manager, International Business Development for Roots will be responsible for and evaluated on the following:
Develop and execute market entry strategies including marketing, operations, and logistics
Establish strong and long-term relationships with international strategic partners/brands/governments
Build and execute strategic international business development plans and drive mutually beneficial programs with strategic partners
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and functions for development, alignment and implementation of new channel support, including internal process improvements.
Identify specific market requirements and manage the compliance process for the wholesale offering (i.e. CIQ, Chinese Guobiao) in collaboration with Sourcing/Compliance Teams, suppliers and business partners
Collect and analyze reporting and data regarding customer preferences and buying habits to identify market potential and factors influencing product demand creating actionable business insights to support revenue growth
Conduct analysis of sales performance and product demand to develop and track critical KPI’s related to sales, pricing, margins and expenses for business optimization
Prepare business reviews to the senior management team regarding project progress and challenges
Top candidates for the Manager, International Business Development role will have the following:
A minimum 5-year proven sales track record in high-profile, multi brand stores and top international market platforms
Passion for Roots product
Fluency in English and Mandarin
An extensive network in the international wholesale, retail and online platforms
Experience developing fashion brands globally
Strong analytical and quantitative skills – forecasting and budgeting
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint, with advanced proficiency in Excel
Experience with financial reporting and analysis
Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
