Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Tandoori Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine, particularly in preparing and cooking tandoori dishes, and possess excellent leadership and food safety skills. Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of traditional tandoori dishes with precision and consistency
- Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety are maintained at all times
- Oversee food preparation processes, including marinating, seasoning, and grilling techniques specific to tandoori cuisine
- Manage food handling procedures in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Lead kitchen operations, including managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
- Ensure timely serving of dishes while maintaining excellent food presentation standards
- Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and restaurant policies
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a professional kitchen setting, preferably within Indian or Asian cuisine
- Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant environment
- Strong background in kitchen management, team leadership, and restaurant operations
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and best practices in the hospitality industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality output
- Prior experience serving customers directly is a plus but not mandatory; leadership skills are essential for team management roles
