POWER-tek Global Inc. is seeking an experienced Electric System Planning Expert to support utility system studies, infrastructure planning, reliability assessments, and capital-development programs.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical expertise across transmission and distribution planning assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct transmission and distribution system planning studies
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, contingency, reliability, and capacity assessments
- Identify system constraints and develop technically sound reinforcement alternatives
- Support substation, feeder, transmission-line, DER, renewable-energy, and interconnection planning
- Develop system expansion plans, capital programs, technical specifications, and planning reports
- Coordinate with utilities, regulators, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Review planning models, study assumptions, technical submissions, and investment recommendations
Mandatory Requirements
- Active APEGA registration is mandatory
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems
- 10+ years of electric utility system-planning experience
- Strong knowledge of transmission and/or distribution planning practices
- Proficiency in PSS®E, ETAP, CYME, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, or similar tools
- Demonstrated experience in utility studies, technical reporting, and client engagement
- Knowledge of applicable North American utility standards and regulatory requirements

Pay: $60.00-$100.00 per hour
