Cornerstone is a wedding, catering, and events company dedicated to celebrating life's greatest moments. Comprised of Cornerstone Weddings, Cornerstone Catering & Events, and Cornerstone Cafe, we build the foundation for unforgettable memories through the celebration of love, gourmet food, and personalized service, all in the inspiring backdrop of the Canadian Rockies.
We are currently looking to fill a part-time set-up position, offering 2-3 shifts per week. Shifts are usually 6 to 8 hours in length, scheduled during day-time hours (usually between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm). Most events will occur on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and our season runs until the end of October.
In addition to the hourly wage, Set-up Staff receive a portion of the gratuity for every event worked.
Set-up Staff are responsible for setting up all Cornerstone events, whether they are held at Cornerstone Theatre, the Canmore Nordic Centre, or the Canmore Ranch, under the supervision and direction of the Set-up Manager and Set-up Supervisors.
A valid ProServe certificate is required in this position.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Setting up for events at the Cornerstone Theatre, Canmore Nordic Centre, and the Canmore Ranch according to the contract for the event. Set-up will include setting up and taking down chairs, may include covering chairs, setting up outdoor and indoor décor, laying table linens, setting up the signing table, setting up the buffet area, cleaning up outdoor areas to ensure they are free of debris and are presentable, and checking the restrooms to ensure cleanliness.
· Confirming with the Set-up Manager/Supervisor that the set-up is complete and to standard before finishing the shift.
· Set-up Staff may also serve welcome drinks/drinks for toasting at an event.
Previous event set-up experience would be an asset, but is not required. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and who can take direction well. This position involves working on your feet for your shift (up to 8 hours), lifting up to 10kg repeatedly, twisting, bending down, and reaching overhead to complete tasks.
